The 5 Events You Can’t Afford To Miss at Ashoka Uni’s Banjaara

Time and again, we’ve reminded you about the festival approaching this weekend. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that Ashoka University’s first festival- Banjaara is all set to open its gates on the 11th and 12th of February with a number of fun events and interesting things to do on campus. The students have been working extremely hard (a glimpse of which you’ll soon get to see exclusively on to put together all the ingredients of a successful festival and here are 5 of the ‘Hot List’ events that you must watch out for at Banjaara this year:

Slam Dunk

Everyone, and by everyone we really mean EVERYONE knows about slam poetry these days. With no props, music or costumes, slam poetry is a form of creative expression that requires you to showcase a number of skills in performing, content creation and articulation. If you think you’ve got it in you to express your thoughts in the spoken word, regardless of what it is—hilarious, outrageous or vulnerable, come take to the Slam Poetry stage and get a chance to watch the judge, Ragini Lalit from Slam Out Loud also perform as a part of the Social Impact Initiative.



If you thought Banjaara didn’t mean a whole #DedhDin of fun, you’re about to be proven wrong. Set to be held from 9PM- Midnight and Midnight- 3 AM are the general and mela quizzes. With Chandrakhan Nair, the extremely well known Master in the India Quiz ciecuit as the Quizmaster for the general quiz, Banjaara is all set to raise the bar. Be there or be square!


Lip Sync Battle

Have you ever watched a music video and scoffed claiming that you could have done a better job? Here’s your chance to prove it. A battle that has gained momentum in the recent past, the Lip Sync Battle brings to participants the opportunity of channeling their favorite music artists to emerge as a pop star. Ready already?

6 Word Stories

The 6 words stories is an online event for all those who think they’re writers—in 6 words. The aim is simple- to create an impactful and interesting story in the most succinct manner with each participant sending in 3 stories each. Eager to see what lies in store? Us, too!

For all budding and already established photographers- here’s your time to shine. With 24 hours in hand and 4 themes to work with– capturing motion, capturing emotions, anything related to wandering/ travelling and one thing that in particular that strikes you about Ashoka, participants will showcase their view of the festival and campus in a day. Interesting, isn’t it?
