The Incredible Launch Of Jai Hind College’s Detour ’17

Festival season has officially begun and all our favourite festivals are lined up one after the other – revamped and better than ever before.

Detour, Jai Hind College’s most awaited mass media fest is back and has been scheduled for the 15th, 16th & 17th of December. Being one of the biggest mass media fests in the city of Bombay, the launch of the fest was also done with great finesse.

The event, which was held at 1 Above in Lower Parel, Mumbai on Thursday, the 17th of August, began with an introduction to the fest and was followed by a game of Russian roulette for the contingents’ name selection. After an auction where the colleges bet on events that they were confident of winning, the evening came to an end.

Detour, now in its 10th year, is going to be grander as they take it one notch higher. With the theme ‘Legends’, Detour begins a legendary journey like never before. The scale and the magnitude will be larger and better than any other festival ever seen with venue centric events and locations unique to its theme.

This massive fest invites students from over 40 colleges from different parts of the city and witnesses a footfall of approximately 3000 students. Over the years, Detour has welcomed celebrated faces from every media field to come and judge the various events. Detour has also seen the presence of celebrities like Konkana Sen Sharma, Vinay Pathak, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Imran Khan, Alia Bhatt, Dolly Thakore, Swanand Kirkire, Zayed Khan, Boman Irani, Zoya Akhtar, Sajid Khan, Tarun Mansukhani, Bruna Abdulla and many more, who add to the exhilarating atmosphere of the fest.

“The goal every year is to be in top form and to come through as the best festival of the year. It’s no different this time around, as we’ve chosen ‘Legends’ as our theme. We hope to live up to the expectations of the 9 legendary years of Detour before us,” says Satvik Bhatt, the Chairperson of Detour ’17.
