‘Long Lost Song’- Vansika Pareek’s views on ‘India and Independence’
The ATKT.in Cypher is an exclusive community of some of our favourite artists and talent across categories of artforms.
For the first theme of August, here’s the submission of Vansika Pareek from NIT Hamirpur, a member of the ATKT.in (Writers) Cypher on the topic – ‘India and Independence- what it means to you, personally in today’s day and age’.
Long lost song
The world was never flat.
This day when you unfurl your pride,
I reminiscence the other night when I was
all in shackles and your words of disdain;
do you remember, you are also of two sides
but always speak of the one which is light, I understand
the norms of relativity, if there is good, there would be
blots of black than why don’t you?
This day, I don’t want you to hold me high
or shower words of grace but just recognize
the taste of freedom pulling down your constraints.
We both have complains, we both have blames;
maybe because we have just one day to
feel each other’s life, may be because we have just
one day to pass close by; let’s walk down the lane
together for just this coming year, appreciate a little of me
and I would set you free.
