Highlights of NM College’s First Business, Finance & Commerce Fest, Insight ’17

Insight, NM’s college first ever business, finance and economics fest was held on 18th and 19th of February. Though it was the first year of the fest, it turned out to be a huge success.With its innovative events and outstanding speaker sessions it stood out uniquely from the other fests.


Day one, the 18th February, started with the Parliamentary Debate, followed by the main highlight of the day- the Panel Discussion, which was covered by CNBC Awaaz’s show Pehla Kadam and anchored by the host of the show itself, Mr. Anil Singhvi. As the day progressed, various events like Moneyball, Newton’s Cradle, Empire and Corporate Restructuring took place. Apart from this, there were speakers from various fields as well. The festival had an Apollo Health talk by Apollo Hospitals and also a session on cashless Economy: Now and in Future.The crowd was really excited about ‘Coffee with Luminary’, where they had invited Mr. Ambareesh Murty, founder and CEO of  Pepperfry and Mr. Mahesh Murty, founder of Pinstorm. The most awaited event for the day however, was ‘The Youtuber’s Way’, where the guest was Mr. Sahil Shah, founding member of the very famous EIC (East India Comedy)- which provided for a great end to Day One.


The second day was no less than the first one. The audience witnessed a number of amazing and exciting personalities and conclaves, along with the mind blowing events. On the events side, the fest hosted Gafla, Venture Vanity, Airwars, Periculum and Inquisitive(quiz), where the students had to give presentations and face the panel of the judges. The Conclave- Pioneering Professions saw speakers like Trishneet Arora, CEO of TAC securities, Dhruv Sitwala, two-time Asian Billiards Champion and Neli D’Silva, the global storyteller and author of Disruption-is it the new normal?, which was conducted by Nayan Shah, founder Mayfair Housing & Jitendra Gupta, founder Citrus Pay. There was also a workshop of AIWMI-Credit Analysis.
The day ended with a number of phenomenal lady speakers. One of them was Ritu Karidhal, a scientist from ISRO; who was one of the brains behind the mission Mangalyan. Following suit was Anurima Sinha, the first female amputee of the world to climb Mt. Everest whose words inspired each one us and made us believe in ourselves and our dreams. There could not have been a more wonderful ending to Insight ’17.

The closing ceremony witnessed the Chairperson giving away awards to the winners after which the festival’s aftermovie was screened. Insight was indeed, a great journey for everyone, and we hope it reaches greater heights in its second year.
