He is what one would call a complete package, with a face that has charmed many hearts, a personality that has plastered itself on everyone’s good opinion, and most importantly, with moves that make the audience swoon everytime. But Shantanu is someone who never takes things for granted. His success and his talent are the result of hours of gruelling hard work put in everyday over the last several years.
Born in Kolkata in 1991, Shantanu finished his schooling in his hometown, and then moved to Mumbai for higher studies, where he attended H.R. College of Commerce and Economics. He has had a passion for dancing ever since he was a little kid. He continued to follow his dreams and work towards his goal and in the process learnt and experimented with many different dance styles including hip hop, contemporary, popping, locking, house dance, Bboying, Folk, Street Dance and Bollywood.
In 2011, Shantanu began his career in acting. Playing the lead role of Swayam Shekhawat on the insanely popular show Dil Dosti Dance on Channel V, Shantanu Maheshwari ruled the hearts of many young female viewers. When D3 came to an end in 2015, Shanatanu continued to appear on other TV shows like Ye Hai Aashiqui, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya and Twistwala Love. But his biggest career boost ensued with his brief appearance on Bindaas Naach, following which he formed his own dance crew called the Desi Hoppers, who together became the first Indian group to not only represent India in the World of Dance Championship in 2015, but also win it
Shantanu also participated in the celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Ja, where he was among the top 3 finalists. He has even made appearances in a music video, advertisement and a short film. And if you think that he has explored almost all the avenues of profession a single person could explore, you’re in for a pleasant surprise. Shantanu Maheshwari along with his dance crew have undertaken the task of teaching their moves to the public and are in fact holding a Dance Workshop in Delhi called StreetMation from 28th to 30th April at Saraswati Music College.
