Picking our favourites has never been more difficult. The Top 3 for Fashion, Theatre & Drama and Dance were probably some of the toughest decisions we’ve ever had to make as each & every performance left us more amazed than the last.
Here’s another such category that has gained a lot of popularity in the recent times- Performance Poetry. Numerous immensely talented college students have performed their amazing poetry & that too in the best way possible! So, here are our Top 3 picks of the year for Performance Poetry:
Deeksha Verender- Christ University
Deeksha’s poem ‘Confessions’, at Flame University’s Kurukshetra, touched the hearts of everyone sitting there. Inspired by personal incidents, this poem is about her friend, who is slowly losing his identity amongst the swarms of people he is surrounded with, & she is willing him to find himself again, while expressing her boundless support for him through this journey. Confessions will definitely touch the right chords in your heart. Take a look:
Farzana Palathingal- Manipal Institute of Technology
This MIT student performed her thought provoking & brilliantly presented piece on ‘How to free yourself from a cage’ at IIT Bombay’s Mood Indigo. It’s a piece that many of us relate to, & the applause for every second line just proves our point.
Kajal Ahuja- Jai Hind College
Another outstanding poem performed at IIT Bombay’s Mood Indigo was where Kajal gave us her rules that’ll help us metamorphose into beautiful beings, & are they good! Watch her absolutely passionate and sensitive performance that will leave a smile on your faces:
Also, don’t forget to check out Aranya Johar’s powerful & riveting piece on suicides and suicide prevention -‘Why Die Young‘.
Stay tuned for more of our favourites from the year gone by!
