Sri Venkateshwara College was established under the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) in Andhra Pradesh in 1961. The foundation stone for the construction of a full-fledged building in the spacious 15 acres at Dhaula Kuan was laid on August 20, 1961 by Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, India’s foremost teacher, scholar and statesman.
The college, a part of the South Campus has grown to become a hub for activities in both, the academic and the non-academic sphere. The college encourages student participation in co-curricular activities organized by the Fine Arts Association, the parent organization that monitors all cultural clubs and affairs of SVC. The FAA in collaboration with Students’ Union also organizes Nexus, the annual inter-college cultural festival of Sri Venkateswara College. With events like the Rock Show and Celebrity Shows, the three-day festival attracts students from all across the university.
