Symbiosis Institute of Technology, a constituent of Symbiosis International University was established in the year 2008. It is this cross-cultural environment at SIT that creates an atmosphere appropriate for noble education.
‘Reverb’ is the annual cultural extravaganza organized by SIT. Reverb, short for Reverberation, is the undue prolongation of sound in a particular space after the original sound is removed. This is particularly true when the stage is set, the sound is loud, and the energy is high.
Reverb, being a Techno-Cultural fest, also staged competitions in an array of technical events in Electronics and Telecommunication, Civil, Computer-Science & IT and Mechanical engineering. Participants from various colleges were left mesmerized with the lineup of exciting and thrilling events.
This exquisite extravaganza drifts its brilliancy across the city of Pune, and the country.

Sports & Gymnasium

Sports :
Symbiosis lays a great emphasis on sports and games considering the fact that ‘A sound mind resides in a sound body. 

Sports Facilities : 
State of the art, sports infrastructure has been created on the campus which includes the following

A gymnasium at Hill Base campus with modern equipment including computerized treadmills and other exercises.

A similar gymnasium at the Hill Top Campus.

Facilities for indoor games like table tennis, badminton, squash on the Hill top Campus. Facilities for table tennis, squash and other indoor games are available on the Hill Base Campus also.

A state of the art Cricket ground with flood lights on the Hill Top Campus.

A vast multipurpose ground for Cricket and Foot ball on the Hill Base campus.

Sports Activities :
Sports activities at Symbiosis are very well organized under the leadership of Dr.Ashish Phulkar,Deputy Director sports.
There is a sports council at the University level which includes one faculty member and some students from each Symbiosis Institute.
A sports calendar is made in the beginning of the year which includes the following.

Inter Institute tournament in various outdoor and Indoor sports and games.

Formation of University teams for Inter University tournaments and participation in this tournament.


One institute is given responsibility of hosting competitions in one or more sports. In addition to all above marathons and run for freedom are organized at the level of Symbiosis International University.
At Symbiosis Institute of Technology, interclass tournament called Protathlitis is also organized in which students participate whole heartedly.
To encourage sports, sports scholarships are given for achievements.

ReVERB 2016 Report

Reverb’16 was all set to take the hierarchy of the successful fest ahead after almost 3 months of careful planning and hard work by the students and faculty of Symbiosis Institute of Technology. The theme this year was “Empire Earth” which was portrayed beautifully on the campus. The three day fest which was scheduled from 18th to 20th February’16 kicked off on 17th of February’16 at the amphitheatre of the college and was declared open by Dr. T. P. Singh (Director Sir) along with Dr. Akshay Malhotra (Dy. Director Sir). The ceremony was a joyous event witnessing the participation of several students from the college along with a faculty fashion show. This Reverb had an artist line up like never before and so the event was followed by the Battle of the Bands’ prelims which was judged and headlined by Vh1 fame Vice Versa and Sid Coutto.

The day 1 stared with Octave (Singing Competition) which saw a huge participation. This was followed by Bust a Move (Dancing Competition) which was judged by renowned bollywood choreographer Savio Barnes along with Danny Fernandes and Kunjan Jani. Other events which took place on this day were the very successful MUN, Street Beats, Futsal and Fashion Show. The pronite was the most awaited event of the day.  Youtube sensation The Indian Jam Project fascinated the audience by their spectacular performance followed by “Ahhaa” presentsAditya Gadhvi (Oscar nominee 2014) and his band. The day was covered by Vh1 Music Diaries. The day 2 covered a number of events which included Beat Boxing, Man vs Food, Gully Cricket, Minute to win it, Dizzy sports and much appreciated Murder Mystery. Miss India presents Campus Princess was an extraordinary platform for girls to showcase their talents and was judged by Mr. India Rohit Khandelwal. The day ended with Battle of the Bands judged and headlined by Raagalogik who gave a tribute to A.R. Rehman. The last performance of this day was by Nh7 fame Fuzz Culture. The day 3 was much awaited as we had events like Clash of SITians scheduled for the day. This day had the finals for Mr. and Miss. SIT where Akshay Dang and Simran Chauhan were adjourned Mr. and Miss. SIT respectively. This day saw some tremendous performances on the stage in the event Tamasha. NCPA artists Kopal Theatre raised the bar of the fest. This was followed by NHC presents Console Wars. The last event was “Deepak Vacuum Technologies” presents the DJ night where sunburn artistsProgressive Brothers made the crowd groove. The 2 days were covered by Mtv Campus Diaries hosted by Krissann Barretto. This is how Reverb 2016 ended with smiles on everyone’s faces.


Reverb 2016 had
 Idea as its title sponsor, Swiggy as food delivery partner and PETA as social cause partner. Reverb was associated with Sakal Times, 9XM, 9XO, Radio City and amazon.in Mtv Campus Diaries. The promotion for the fest involved the performance by the flashmob troop at Seasons Mall and also promos on the national channel 9XO. Thus, Reverb 2016 was a huge success with the essence of the fest reverberating and the crowd waiting in anticipation about what the next year has in store for them.
