Dancers! We’ve got massive news for you.
The well known team of talented (and good looking) boys that go by the name Desi Hoppers are known to most (if not all of us). They represented India for the first time ever at World of Dance(WOD) and won it in their very first attempt, making headlines across the country and guess what? They’re coming to teach Delhi their moves through the Hiphop Dance Workshop of 3 days!
Desi Hoppers, comprising one of the most popular faces in dance today- Shantanu Maheshwari, Macedon D’mello, Nimit Kotain, Subhasg Naidu, Rohan Vyas and Niraj Lama was formed in 2015, with seven members originally. The hip-hop dance crew from Mumbai won the World of Dance Championship in Los Angeles in their debut year and created history by being the first Indian dance team representing and subsequently, winning WOD. The journey of their formation and subsequent win was filmed as a formatted show on Bindaas and the crew was even invited to give special performances at America’s Got Talent (Season 11) and Day Day Up. Wait no more, here’s their spectacular performance from WOD:
If you’re wondering when you can learn from them or even meet them, your dream is about to come true. The crew will be in Delhi towards the end of the month, from the 28th – 30th of April, hosting the ‘Street Mation’ Dance workshop. To be held in three batches, the workshop is not just an opportunity to learn from the best dancers-choreographers around but also a unique chance for you to diversify your knowledge of dance by engaging with performers of their standard.
Complete details about the batches and the fee can be found here.
But that’s not all. If you’re a dancer and you’d like to earn your way to the workshop, Dance n Inspire, the hosts of the workshop are welcoming you to do so! “Isse Kehte Hai Hiphop” is an online contest open till the 20th of April, which will be judged by Desi Hoppers and will earn the winner a free pass as well as exclusive goodies.
The rules and requirements are fairly simple, so we suggest you get to work now! Complete details here.
Stay tuned with us for the exciting updates on the workshop and the competition- don’t forget to participate and share this with your dancer friends.
