The definition of being in Mumbai and living under the proverbial rock is not having heard of Malhar. Asia’s second largest inter-collegiate youth festival, St. Xavier’s College’s Malhar celebrates 36 glorious years since being founded by a humble group of teenagers.
Managed, organized and run by a frenetic team of 1200 volunteers and 130 people in the organizing committee, the Malhar itinerary features the usual mandatory cultural fest recipe of dance, singing, and literature-based events. Malhar prides itself on an eclectic mix of impromptu comedy, theatre, story-boarding, puppeteering, mime, street plays, and the grand Mr and Mrs Malhar pageant.
All we’ll say is this, missing out on Malhar would be the worst case of FOMO syndrome. August 15th – 17th is when the magic happens. You cannot not be there.
