Our Boombox segment is  now filled with a variety of talents – singers, dancers, poets, photographers, beatboxers, rappers, filmmakers & even a cardist! Today, we add another gem to our list of amazing rappers.

Meet Rahul Jaluthria a.k.a. Smoke, an Arts student from Kirori Mal College, who first got introduced to the world of rap when he got hooked onto Eminem’s ‘When I’m Gone’. After which he started to listen to more of his songs and realized what rap actually was.

Rahul’s first performance was at his school festival.

The song was Macklemore’s ‘Can’t hold us’. At first I was nervous but it all went well.

There was no stopping this talented student after that. He went on to perform at his college a number of times in the past year.

Watch Smoke’s brilliant cover on ‘Oh Lay’:

Talking about his inspirations, Rahul says,

While positive people like my friends & my family inspire me to perform, my wish to be the greatest also inspires me to a great extent. Legends like Eminem, Wayne, Drake, The Game and others too, inspire me.

College helped Rahul in getting recognition. But he also feels that colleges should provide artists with various platforms to showcase their talents on.

“I aspire to be the greatest, a legend, and a man who people can remember for ages.” says the young rapper.

With talent like his, we are sure Rahul is going to go a long way & achieve all that he wishes to.
