Tsunami is defined as an arrival or occurrence of something in overwhelming quantities and Lala Lajpat Rai College has got this in spades. They say ‘opposites attract’ and usually result in something incredibly beautiful. Thus, Tsunami has decided upon Ying-Yang for its theme this year, a combination of black, white and all things different, which is an assurance that Tsunami ’17 is going to outdo its own standards. Here are a few reasons why you should not be missing out on this festival:
The Carnival Day
The longest festival in Mumbai, Tsunami is spans across 8 days! It starts off with Carnival Day, which takes you down memory lane. Hosted in a five star hotel, this day is filled with games we played in our childhood, followed by a stellar Bollywood night where they have some of the best performers lined up.
Pro tip– Participants, carry a change of clothes so you can enjoy the night without any hassles, because you will definitely not want to miss out on any part of it.
A Treasure Hunt at Essel World (Whaaa?)
Yes. Tsunami hosts a Treasure Hunt at Essel World. Imagine this – Rollercoasters and rides everywhere you look, treasures hidden in all the nooks and crannies of the venue and you running around with your squad looking for clues. I don’t think it can get any better than this. See you there then?
Dance performances, music shows, trailer launches- you name it, they have it. While numerous celebrities are invited to view and judge the competitions, the Master of Ceremonies (MC) makes sure the audience has the time of their lives. Last year, they had the trailer launch of Akira, which was attended by Sonakshi Sinha. Pretty sure this year is going to be as star studded as the last. Stay tuned with us to know who’s going to be there this time around.
Food, food & more food
The Lala Lajpat Rai campus boasts of an array of food items, so make sure you eat to your hearts content. (and even more, if you can)
O.C. Recommendations- We would recommend Raju Sandwichwala’s samosa sandwich, as it’s one of the best things we’ve ever had the pleasure of eating and of course, the masala dosa of the canteen.
Tsunami is the place to be
This fest sees a footfall of more than 12,500 participants every year from some of the most elite colleges of Mumbai. The O.C. takes pride in ensuring that this fest is not only an exciting and educational one, but also a memorable one. Their presidents Prit Tated & the twins Abhi & Avi Mehta are passionate and determined to make this fest the best one Mumbai’s seen this year. With all the students working hard all year round, Tsunami is one fest you should not miss.
Stay tuned with us for more exciting updates on this September fest!
