To promote the heaps of talented students studying at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (NIT), Bhopal, a bunch of students founded their Cultural Society- Roobaroo back in 2008. With the aim to provide the right platform for the students to showcase their talent in various fields and also cultivate aptitude and awareness towards art and culture while creating an impact in the society at large, Roobaroo has grown significantly since its inception.

As a part of their activities for dance, the freshers recently did something extremely fun and innovative called the Midnight Muddle. The students shot a dance video to show how they would practice late in the night, trying to hide from the guard and breaking all the rules, just to follow their true passion- dance. ‘To follow one’s dream is the ultimate deed’ is the message that this video delivers. Combining Western and Classical dance forms, this video is definitely a treat to watch.

It was actually very difficult when we actually tried to shoot, since we were out of bounds, we had to take permission. Also while actually filming it, it was dark, so collisions were not a mystery anymore nor were mistakes. From forgetting our parts to actually stepping on others, including the cameraman, we did everything.

The amazing response they got from their college friends, virtual audiences and even their seniors made all their hard work worth it and also encouraged them to work even harder to follow their passion.

We are eagerly waiting to see a lot more of these fun initiatives from NIT’s Roobaroo!
