“Bubblecars” – Debut Album by The Siege Out Now

One of the finest rappers in the college circuit and an ATKT favourite, Siege just dropped a new album called “Bubblecars” earlier this week. The 9-track album was recorded at Southblock Studios, Mumbai and marks the rappers debut attempt at a full length release. Siegen Moopanar aka The Siege, a student of the Rizvi College of Management, Mumbai, started writing rap verses at the age of 11 and  has slowly grown from strength to strength culminating in his new album which puts on display his impeccable flow and varied lyrical ability.

“I create music when i want to turn my pain into power; to mutate my disabilities into my superpowers. My album, Bubblecars is a farewell speech. It means I’m out of here, free from everything this world has, in a car floating around between clouds.”

With this particular collection of songs, The Siege explores much more serious and delicate themes of self-harm and suicidal tendencies, as he takes us on a stage by stage journey and the inside workings of a self-destructive mindset.

“Bubblecars compiles all the stages that the mind of a person goes through before they take the final step of self-harm. It also speaks of the aftermath of death- a free, floating sensation that takes over your body. The way I see it, there are five stages to it: confusion, chaos, self-victimization, self-harm and finally, freedom. I did not know these stages beforehand but, I discovered them as I went through the emotions.”

The Siege was also a guest on the first edition of the ATKT Talent Tent Podcast, where he appeared alongside Gaurav Gambir aka D-Cypher to talk about the hip-hop scene in college campuses. You can check out the podcast right here:
