Meet Pankh: Delhi University’s Latest Boy Band

Pankh, comprised of students from colleges under the University of Delhi, is all set to come out with their first music video soon.


In the winter of 2017, a bunch of Delhi University students bonded over their love for composing, re-arranging, and performing ghazals. The students, each from a unique musical background and their own essence to add to the music, eventually formed their band ‘Pankh’ in the year 2018, and have been a part of’s Music Cypher since. Now, on the 20th of August, Pankh and are all set to release our first ever music video – a tribute to music director Amit Trivedi! Take a look at the teaser: (Watch the full video here!)
When asked why they picked Trivedi, Sagar Garg (Vocals), Mahavir (Percussions), Shreshth Chawla (Drums), Kshitiz Jain (Bass), Parijat Kirti (Guitars), and Vibhor Mathur (Flute) recall how their very first jam session involved a medley of his songs.

“It was then that we realised that all of us are connected and well tuned, and that’s when the idea of forming a band popped in.”

While it is the band’s first music video, it is also the first Cypher video by The Cypher is an exclusive community of artists from across the fields of performing arts, literary arts, and fine arts. The community is later trained or mentored by professionals from their field, and are given opportunities to grow as artists.
