‘Naya Sa Pal’: An Original Composition

Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore student Junaid Ahmed hopes to raise awareness for suicide prevention with his original composition, ‘Naya Sa Pal’.

Junaid Ahmed, a self-taught musician who started singing when he was just 8 years old, wrote ‘Naya Sa Pal’ to convey the message that suicide doesn’t end the chances of life getting worse, it only eliminates the possibility of it ever getting better.

“I am very concerned about this issue (suicide), and this song was my way of reaching out to people who are going through any issue to tell them their ‘Naya sa Pal’ will come, all they have to do is hold on.”

Growing up in St. Germain Boarding School, Bangalore, he was always encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities and so, he developed a passion for music early on.

His first performance itself was described as ‘goosebumps-worthy’ by his teachers. He was just 10 years old at the time. After that, whether it was prize distribution day in school, or inter-college festivals, Junaid was always in the spotlight.

This young musician dreams to sing for Bollywood films, but even if he doesn’t make it big, he promises to never stop singing.
